How to make an arrowhead yourself?

A bow is a special weapon designed for shooting arrows. It is believed that bows and arrows appeared 10 thousand years ago. The first attributes for shooting began to be made by the natives of Africa and South America, however, at first the bow was completely unsuitable for shooting due to its poor destructive power. Later, when people became acquainted with the properties of wood and metal, this attribute began to be used for a well-known purpose. Today, this tool is easy to make even at home. We'll talk about the most important element in this hunting set and how to make an arrowhead.

Homemade bows are usually made for fun. However, having made a high-quality structure, you can get a rather formidable attribute of self-defense. The tip in this type of weapon is of paramount importance. Due to the fact that humans have learned to make this component of the arrow, the bow has helped them get food while hunting animals. Traditionally, it is believed that the best penetration is the faceted shape of the tip. For the first time, the ancient Scythians began to use such arrows. If you seriously decide to practice shooting, pay special attention to the arrowheads when making a bow.

How to make an arrowhead?

The main requirements for the tip are streamlined shape, weight and resistance to the force of the shaft impact. If you just want to practice archery, you can make an arrowhead from a budget material. There are many options from the available tools that are usually found in any apartment, for example, synthetic winterizer, bottle cork, rubber from a car camera.

If you're deciding how to make an arrowhead that is safe for others, try using a piece of construction rubber. To do this, cut off about 45 mm of material, screw it to the arrow, maintaining a small gap, which will prevent the tip from breaking with the shaft.

Popular science about arrows and arrowheads

Bathroom - the room is small, but it also requires a well-thought-out interior design, so there are no trifles in this case. Any element in it can become a decoration of a room, and linen baskets are no exception. Unfortunately, the range of such products is not very large: it is extremely difficult to choose an accessory for absolutely any room. However, in this case, there is an excellent way out - handmade, or a do-it-yourself laundry basket. Since this item does not differ in large dimensions, the authors will not have insurmountable difficulties. The main thing for them is to get acquainted with potential models, select material and get to work after getting to know the process closely.

How to choose the perfect laundry basket?

To find the best option, you need to pay attention not only to its design. The product must have characteristics that make it an excellent container for laundry. And in this case, pay attention to several important points. It is not recommended to ignore them, otherwise the object can become a source of problems.

  • Design. Any accessory should fit into the interior, be its harmonious addition, and not a foreign element. Therefore, the model must be selected very carefully.
  • The main tasks of a laundry basket are decorating a room, storing laundry, and saving space. This is especially important for rooms of modest size, where there is a struggle for almost every centimeter. Possible options are choosing a corner accessory, creating a low basket that can be easily hidden under the bathtub.
  • Since high humidity in bathrooms is common, an item for storing laundry must have ventilation holes. The second possible solution is to use a material that can "breathe". Otherwise, items waiting to be washed may get a musty smell. It is possible that they will be "chosen" by mold.
  • Product durability. Any item purchased must serve for a long time. Yes, the owners can "get tired" of the basket, this is a common phenomenon, as many people like the novelty. However, the newly made item must not tear, break, or bend. In this case, there will be claims to the functionality and appearance of the model.
  • Practicality. Any thing must be comfortable. If we consider only the basket for things, then its main characteristic is stability. Therefore, the ideal would be an object that has a cubic, cylindrical shape, or tapers upwards. Models with very small bottoms will become a headache as they will continually fall.
  • Perfectly smooth surfaces. This requirement is mandatory. Any roughness or other defects can cause parting with your favorite clothes. For example, thin elastic materials do not cost anything to catch on to something and "go" - to shoot an arrow. Therefore, before using the basket, it is necessary to carefully check its walls and bottom.

The undoubted advantages of the products are carrying handles, a cover that protects the laundry from water.

Types of laundry baskets

Before considering how to make a do-it-yourself laundry basket, you need to get acquainted with the materials from which they are made. And then decide which of the "competitors" will be the most suitable for the bathroom.

Plastic, nylon products

The low price, practicality of the material made it almost ubiquitous: almost "everything and everything" is made of it. If we talk only about laundry baskets, then plastic is also not in the last place here, and the range of models from it is quite wide.

Simple products - containers with large or small holes. Most often they are equipped with comfortable handles. Such baskets look simple. More interesting are products that imitate carving or weaving. As a rule, they have the same "leaky" lids. On sale you can find corner models, sometimes very original designs are found.

A serious disadvantage of plastic baskets is their rustic appearance, which often prevents them from looking decent in stylish interiors. A possible solution is a basket hidden in a nightstand, cupboard, closet, etc.

Another man-made candidate is weightless nylon. These are foldable mesh products on a flexible frame. The range of such lightest designs is wide enough. Plus them - the ability to wash in the machine. The disadvantage is the same as that of plastic: it is simplicity, unpresentable.

M. SERGEEV. Hunting and hunting economy, 1977, №9

Of the hunters with dogs in the middle and southern zone of our country, at least 40% are lovers of hunting with hounds. However, not all of them know how to use the hunting horn, which facilitates and decorates hunting with hounds.

It is common for a hound to pursue a beast until it is captured by a shot, by greyhounds, or driven away by hounds. No wonder in the old days, when riding horses were used to hunt with greyhounds, there was an expression: the hound must drive until the torques, that is, until the beast is taken and strapped (tied) to the saddle. Naturally, in pursuit of the beast, the hound can move away from the hunter and not hear his call. This is where the hunting horn comes in. In ancient times, this instrument was made from the horns of large bulls using a horn case. Hence the name "horn". The Lithuanian hunting horns, lined with silver or copper with various embossing, were especially good and beautiful. Later, copper and brass were used to make horns, and now some craftsmen successfully make them from thin sheets of stainless steel. Such horns sound good and are more durable than easily crumpled brass horns.

In all countries where hunting with hounds is widespread, hunters use horns to give one or another urge. Hunting horn music is especially developed in France, where complex sound signals are played on horns. In contrast to the French multi-tone horns worn over the shoulder of liqueurs (arriving), our horns are much simpler and have the shape of a knee (arriving horn) or a crescent (greyhound horn). For gun hunters, the most convenient crescent horns worn from the left side, which protects them from being damaged by a gun. Also convenient are the German large horns in two turns, called French horns (from the German wald hori - forest horn). French horns have good sonority and allow you to take several tones. But they have a drawback: the exhaled moist air settles inside and the French horn every now and then has to be freed from the accumulating liquid.

Russian horns with a knee and a crescent are two-tone - an octave from the bottom "to" to the top "C". And all Russian urges (signals) are based on a combination of the lower and upper "C". Below are the horny urges in the simplest and most understandable form for all hunters, when the lower "do" is designated as "that", and the upper "do" is designated as "that". For rifle hunters, you need to know a few urges, but know them clearly in order to be guided by them.

Knowing the horn urges makes hunting with hounds much easier. For example, several hunters hunt together with a bow of hounds. Time towards evening. The chief of the hunt trumpets the call - collecting, the master of the bow then plays the call of the hounds. But the hounds were removed from the rut by the third hunter, who gives the call - all hounds. Thanks to these urges, hunters gather without wasting time. Or another example. Some of the hunters saw the wolf. The call "after the wolf" immediately alarms all hunters: the guns are reloaded with buckshot, the manholes are engaged, and the likelihood of successful hunting of the animal increases significantly. In case of any trouble with the hunter, the "alarm" urge plays (for a fight), and all hunters are obliged to hurry to the rescue of a comrade.

The hunting horn is an essential tool in a properly set hunt with hounds. Unfortunately, we have not yet established the production of simple but good-sounding horns. The production of good horns is not difficult to establish at one of the wind instrument factories.

The need to hunt is deeply and firmly inherent in masculine nature. Although the modern heads of families no longer have an urgent need to drag the carcass of a killed animal to a hungry family, they are still attracted by the wild nature. For some it is a way to change the environment and relax, for some it is a great workout, for others it is a profitable form of earnings. And every hunter appreciates the trophies. This is a memory of a heroic deed, a clear proof of one's own heroism.

Hunting trophies and collecting them

They even invented the term "trophy hunting". People who hunt bear consider the skin, skull and claws of the killed animal as trophies. The killed birds are stuffed or retain their claws and the most beautiful feathers. Wild boar and elk heads are also highly prized. But the most valuable exhibit in the collection of any hunter is the horns of ungulates - elk, deer, maral or bison. Even if the animal, for some reason, had only one horn, you can make a beautiful wall decoration from it. Horns of ungulates are not always the same size or shape. But this does not stop avid collectors at all.

A collection of horns from a single animal is considered to be an indicator of the success of any hunter. They are collected after the elk or deer have shed their antlers. It is necessary to monitor the ungulates, to know all its habitats, the main routes of movement. The main exhibit is a skull with horns, which the hunter gets after the death of the animal.

The horns of ungulates are often bulky and heavy. A special shield or medallion is made for them. Medallions for hunting trophies can be purchased in the store or made with your own hands. Even a person without special knowledge and skills can cope with this matter.

Balconies and loggias by default are often very simple. As a rule, such a light and unprotected metal fence quickly rusts and loses its appearance. In addition, the through fence does not protect against wind and rain. It is uncomfortable to be on such a site. Finishing the balcony with siding will solve this problem.

Why clad balcony with siding

Spacious balconies are often considered by the owners of small apartments as additional living space. However, an area open to all winds is not suitable for this. To close up the walls and glaze the balcony is a very common solution.

Siding has the following functions:

  • protects the site from wind and partially from rain;
  • prevents the ingress and accumulation of debris on the balcony;
  • solid fence from a psychological point of view more comfortable;
  • prevents heat loss, which feels very good on cool evenings;
  • finishing gives the balcony structure an attractive look.

The combination of panel cladding, insulation and glazing allows you to turn a spacious loggia into an additional room. But even without insulation, here you can organize a comfortable summer office or a gym.

Which siding to choose for cladding

There is no special siding for the exterior of the loggia or balcony in the house. For cladding, it is allowed to take any option.

Not so long ago, ceramic siding appeared on the market - a variant of ceramic cladding. For loggias, it is rarely used due to the high price, large mass and complexity of installation.

Advantages and disadvantages of siding

The balcony structure is not designed for an additional heavy load, so the lightest materials are chosen for finishing. Siding - wood, plastic, even fiber cement, is perfect for this.
