Now we need to glue the sides of the formed fans together so that they create a single shape that looks like a circle. After that, a small circle is cut out of thick cardboard, its diameter should be about 2 centimeters or slightly more. A circle of "fans" is carefully folded in such a way that it resembles the sun, after which a small cardboard circle should be glued to its middle.

On a piece of shiny cardboard, draw an even circle, the diameter of which will be 3 centimeters. To do this, it is best to use a compass, or take a special round template. A figure is cut out, after which a pre-prepared tape with a length of about 35-40 centimeters is glued to its seamy side. Next, a shiny cardboard circle is glued to the middle of the previously made "fan circle". And you definitely need to make sure that everything is glued neatly and evenly.

  • The medal should look solemn: it should be made of heavy, beautiful material (usually brass), so that it is pleasant to look at, hold in hand and wear.
  • If you wish, make a personalized engraving - write your name, your own wishes or other things on the medals.
  • Decorate comic medals with humorous lines and a funny caricature of the birthday boy.
  • In medals for women, it is advised to emphasize the elegance, beauty and intelligence of the birthday girl.

How to present anniversary medals?

So, after you have thought what the medal will be like, start preparing the presentation process itself.

What details need to be considered before handing over:

A family anniversary or a significant birthday of one of your work colleagues is a great occasion to prepare an original memorable gift.

Especially when the anniversary is associated with another significant event, such as a wedding, the birth of a child, the beginning or completion of a large-scale project, or retirement. For such cases, it is not a sin to prepare a medal. Purchased medals are solemn and elegant, but a supermedal executed will move anyone.

So, a newborn pensioner appeared in our work collective, so we really wanted to celebrate all his achievements, remember with a kind word the mentorship and tips that he passed on to young people, his poise, experience and the acquired qualities of a master. As a result, a whole mini-performance was born in honor of our hero, the culmination of which was the presentation of a well-deserved award, namely a medal. You can also use this idea to surprise and delight someone close to you.

For work you will need: two unnecessary CD-disks, a wide ribbon with gold decor, a satin ribbon, a cord with a holder for a badge (it can be successfully replaced by a satin ribbon if there is no special lace). You also need a glue gun with hot glue sticks and a regular clerical glue stick. Print or draw on heavyweight paper a greeting phrase, such as “60 years,” “Honorary Retired,” or another appropriate for the occasion. Decorate this inscription in the form of a round medallion.

We start with the frame for the first CD. We make the initial tier of the framing from a satin ribbon. To do this, measure a piece of tape, which should be approximately one and a half to two times the outer circumference of the CD. We scorch the edge of the tape with a candle flame or a lighter to avoid shedding the thread on the cut.

Then we select the thread to match the color, thread it into the needle. We fold the tape along, and, using small stitches, sew the folded edges of the tape. Pulling up the thread, we smoothen the tape, getting a ruffle.

We try on the ruffle to the CD and stitch it, hiding the cut edges. Using hot melt glue, glue the gathered tape to the outer edge of the CD.

We will use the braid with gold decor for further decoration of the medal. The braid in our case was replaced by a wide packing tape with sequins and a rigid edging. We cut the tape into fragments in the amount of six pieces.

Fold the fragments in half and use a heat gun, distributing them evenly, and glue them in the second tier to the edge of the CD.

The front part of the medal is decorated with a paper medallion with congratulations. Cut it out of paper, the size should cover the central part of the disc, but leave the iridescent plastic surface as a frame for the center of the medal. We glue the paper to the disk using a clerical glue-pencil, hot melt glue will not work here, otherwise the paper will lie unevenly.

The edging of the paper medallion is made of a thin golden ribbon, thus not only hiding the junction of the paper with the plastic, but also adding an additional decorating moment.

Attach the second disc to the back of the first CD, fasten them with a glue gun. The central part with the hole of the second disc also needs to be hidden, so we glue it with thick paper or cardboard, the color of which is desirable to match in accordance with the general range. The final touch is the medal neckband. If you are using a badge cord, simply clamp the metal clip at the top of the product. If regular tape is used, it should be glued before the two discs are joined together.
