Folding the paper bullfinch

Actions to be performed when folding are accompanied by sequential photos. At the end of the article, a video mk is offered on the topic of origami bullfinch.

  • To get started, you can take any square sheet of paper. It will be much better if it is a red-black double-sided square. You can use two colored squares, black and red, simply by folding them one by one around the perimeter.
  • The next step is to fold the paper square in half following the diagonal lines. You should get a triangle, one of the corners of which is square, and the other two are sharp.
  • Connecting the sharp corners of the square, get the same shape as in the previous paragraph, but smaller.
  • Then, having clearly specified the laid center line with a ruler, you need to dilute the sharp corners of the shape again, to their original position, as in the next photo.
  • Having sequentially connected the vertex of a right angle and sharp corners to each other, you should carefully, but carefully squeeze the resulting folds.
  • Having thus specified the lines for subsequent folds, separate the top and sharp corners of the shape again.
  • At this stage, you need to form the shape of two symmetrical wings. To do this, bend the sides with sharp corners in the direction of the right angle, but at the same time rejecting the sharp corners themselves in the opposite direction.
  • Now you need to put the blank for the origami bullfinch with the outer side down, and the back ̶ towards you. If colored double-sided paper is used for the work, the opposite color should become visible. Then you need to turn the workpiece clockwise, changing the top and bottom in places.
  • The top edge of the middle corner will form the origami bullfinch's beak. To do this, you need to bend it, as in the next photo.
  • Open the formed pocket of the form, carefully picking it up and pulling it towards you.
  • Having squeezed the resulting shape from the sides, form a blank for subsequent actions, as in the next photo.
  • Now bend the wing in the opposite direction.
  • To form the back of a paper bullfinch, you need to connect the long side to the center of the workpiece.
  • To form the tail of the bird, it is necessary to bend part of the workpiece at an acute angle in the opposite direction to the previous direction.
  • Having made the folds that form the back and tail of the bullfinch, return the wing of the paper bird to its original position.
  • Bend a small corner towards the wing.
  • The next step is to thread the corner along the formed folds inward. This will give the bullfinch additional volume and naturalistic shape, and will form the breast.
  • To form a rounded crown, bend the top corner and the origami bullfinch is almost ready.
  • It remains only to slightly pull the beak and give volume to the resulting shape.

A pigeon like the one in the photo below can be made from newspaper tubes. This does not require much effort and cost. Old newspapers can be found in every home, and PVA glue is usually used to join parts. A sheet of newspaper is laid out on the surface of the table and, using a wooden skewer or knitting needle, is folded into a tube. The edge of the newspaper is glued to the last turn with PVA glue.

Then the made tubes need to be ironed with a cold iron to make them flat. Now you can start making crafts using the quilling technique.

How to make a pigeon next? First, you need to draw the outlines of the bird on a piece of paper. Then you need to roll up the rolls of newspaper tubes - large and small, to fill the surface of the drawing. The voids are filled with details in the form of a drop. It is easy to make them from a circle by pressing with your fingers. When the entire drawing is filled with elements of newspaper tubes, one long strip is wrapped around the entire craft.
