How to clean a car air conditioner with your own hands

If a foreign smell appears in the car, then this indicates an imminent cleaning of the air conditioner.

You can ask the help of professionals for this, or you can do it yourself. There are several ways to adjust the climate system to keep it running smoothly.

However, first you need to understand the reasons for the unpleasant odor when you turn on the air conditioner. After reading this article, you will learn how to clean a car air conditioner in 10 minutes.

Why there is an unpleasant odor in the car

In fact, the owner of the car is not to blame for this. An air conditioner is a system that passes a stream of warm air through itself, while evaporating it and transferring the atmosphere to the condensers in a different form. At the same time, it heats up, and the evaporator decreases the degree. These two auto air conditioner parts are located in different places on the car. The condenser is near the radiator, the evaporating element is in the dashboard, in which the atmosphere is mainly cooled.

This is the problem. Air enters from the street, which contains moisture, and quite a lot (15 grams of water per 1 cubic meter). Considering that about three liters of water is collected in an hour, where does it go? To drain it, technicians equipped each car with a drain, with the help of which condensate is discharged into the street unnoticed.

It would seem that there is nothing special about this, but it is not. Together with the air from the street, the evaporator sucks in dust, dirt and other debris. It turns out a semblance of a vacuum cleaner with a water filter, only in a real vacuum cleaner everything can be easily removed and cleaned, but not here.

After the climate system is turned off, the temperature in the evaporator rises and the dirt that has accumulated there begins to rot.

HELP! Because of this, fungi, mold, bacteria and other microorganisms develop. From here, infections begin, as well as an unpleasant odor that appeared in the cabin.

So, there may be several reasons for contamination of air conditioners:

The accumulated dirt acts as a heat insulator that does not allow the air to completely cool down to the set temperature. Therefore, there is a need for antibacterial cleaning of the air conditioner.

Electronic panels started working at Balti stops What do they show and how passengers evaluate them

Such electronic panels were installed in ten places around the city. Photo: Yuri Gagarin

At public transport stops in Balti, electronic panels have been launched in test mode, on which you can track the time of arrival of public transport. We studied how they work and asked for the first opinions of the passengers. And the public utilities explained on what principle the scoreboards work and whether the authorities intend to place them further.

Residents: not all panels are conveniently installed

One of the places where electronic displays are already installed is the central stop. At 12.00 we went to the bus stop for the mail (towards the 8th quarter and "BAM") to observe the operation of the device. A running line on it warns that it is running in test mode. Shows the scoreboard how many minutes remain until the arrival of transport, but not all, but only trolleybuses. This is how it works in other places as well.

According to the scoreboard, trolleybus # 3 was supposed to arrive in 6 minutes, trolleybus # 2 in 4 minutes, and trolleybus # 1 in 8 minutes. They all arrived on time. Then the "five" arrived, but there was information on the panel about this trolleybus.
