ABOUT ME

My Journey…

At age 19, I booked myself a ticket to Europe that ignited my wanderlust soul. Upon my return to Australia (a month later), I got a job with a charity and although I loved the cause, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. Then life happened and I found myself getting pulled further and further into this monotonous routine. So with very little in my bank account, I packed my life into one suitcase (and one very heavy carry on), said goodbye to my family and friends and hello to the rest of the world. That single decision has led me to have the most incredible experiences, meet lifelong friends, discover who I truly am at my core and my path in life.

My Life Philosophy…

Compared to the rest of my family, I’m a unicorn. I’m 32, living abroad, I recently quit my job to pursue my dream of writing a novel, I’m single and to a lot of people, I’m not where I “should be” at this stage in my life. But do I care? Absolutly not! It’s more than okay to break the mould of “societal norms”, which is exactly what I’ve done and will continue to do. Because at the end of the day, it’s my life and I refuse to wake up in twenty years time full of regrets, because I did what I thought I was supposed to do, instead of what truly made me happy. Everyday I wake up and think “live with no regrets”.

My Passions…

Travel is a given, but I also love to bake. I even had a cake business in Australia for a few years. I’m obsessed with dance. Basically, whenever I’m not writing, I’m dancing. I love the sun, the beach being my favourite place for some r&r and I also love helping others and giving back (10yrs in the charity sector will do that to you). I’m also a huge fan of anything herbal. From tea and natural medicine to skincare and spiritual cleansing sticks.

My Inspirations…

Beyonce! It had to be said. But whilst she continues to remain right up there, those that have joined her are people I have met along my journey. Firstly, my dance instructors whose talent, passion, drive and beautiful souls, have inspired me to be the best version of me I can possibly be. Secondly, Drag Queens! To have such confidence and vulnerability, to put their art form out there when there’s still so many haters in the world. Absolutely amazing! And thirdly, my mum. Who is no longer with us, but everyday I appreciate her more and more and what she taught me.
